Happy New Year

Thanks for visiting this blog. The new year already feels like it will produce a lot of exciting beach paintings. We have been up at Scotts Landing over the Christmas and New Year period and the beauty there stirs new artistic ideas within. I have bought finished ones from Vienna while there in December so availability will be highlighted. Andrea

Hi and welcome back to this art blog.

Having been unable to edit my blog for many years, I have finally managed access to it and will start uploading my paintings to it. In Austria I had a wonderful photographer to take pictures of my paintings for this blog, so I will do my best to represent these paintings as well as I can. All paintings are suited to different light settings and I will start to state which light in what kind of rooms are best to showcase these paintings.

A little about who I am.

I am a New Zealander. I left home to join the Air Force at a young age and traveled around the world until settling in Vienna, Austria in my late 30s. I lived in Vienna from January 1994 to December 2008. During that time I worked full time for the United Nations for the International Atomic Energy Agency and United Nations Industrial Development Organization at the Vienna International Centre for about 8 years and brought four children up and ran a large household at the same time.

I am a self taught artist. Vienna is where I first started to paint in oils, although art and drawing has always been a major part of my whole life. I have lived and exhibited in New Zealand, Canada and Austria and now live back in Auckland where I will remain.
Since arriving back in Auckland, many of my paintings have been exhibited here on the North Shore and north of Auckland, Snells Beach.

As a mother I feel art should be suitable for all ages and cultures and not offend anyone. Art should be created to lift the spirit and bring peace and joy. It should also be accessible to all households.
I use mainly oil on canvas but also water colours.
As there are many paintings on this blog, to see them all you will have to click on the "older posts" tag at the bottom. I hope you enjoy these paintings and will often visit this site to see what is new.
